Oh! Those Chaos/Creatives and Self Sabotage

There are three transformation personality patterns that determine how we approach life. Typically, we rely on one or two (unless we’re a Master of Transformation!). I tend to be an Opening/Starter (must get inspired to do anything!) and Chaos/Creative. (Note: Take the quiz and find out what your super powers are!)

Many healers are the Chaos/Creative pattern because healing energy is also creative energy. Or to state it the other way…many highly creative people are also innate healers. Their form of creativity is healing for others.

But those amazing gifts and powers of Chaos/Creatives also makes them….ummm, let’s just say a bit challenging for themselves and for others.

First, Chaos/Creatives that haven’t learned to receive support, rarely achieve success. The very act of creation becomes more important than releasing that act into the world. Instead of “letting it go” Chaos/Creatives will blow it up…i.e. self sabotage. In fact the Creative Consciousness loves blowing things just so it can create again.

When I was a kid, we spent days playing the creek, building out elaborate canals and islands with houses. then we’d get bored and “blow up” the dam above our miniature Venice and flood it out…just so we could start over again. That was great as a kid, but as an adult…that’s not so fun any more.

Another way I would self-sabotage had to do with timing. I am generally “ahead” of others when it comes to realizing things. When someone finally gets on the same page with me, but I feel they were too slow about it…I will cut off my nose to spite my face, so to speak. and wildly state…forget it!

As a Chaos/Creative and Opening/Starter I could always start a new health program such as changing my diet, or exercising, but just as I would start to see progress and success…bam! I would blow it up in some way. Long term consistency is VERY hard for a Chaos/Creative! (Note: If you’re just a Chaos/Creative and not an Opening/Starter you may find it’s very hard to get started.)

When I’m in my full on Chaos/Creative mode, I also find myself getting competitive with others. I could have done it better, faster, or more creative. It really makes it difficult in that mode to find people to collaborate with and to receive support. Some part of me just wants to establish my own unique creativity as the one and only thing on the planet.

Of course, the solution is simple…keep working on my Mastery/Exceller pattern which includes receiving and acknowledging support from others for achieving success, be consistent and patient.

I also acknowledge that if I feel competitive with someone else it is an indicator that I’m not tending to my own creative expression.

One final technique I use to help let go of my creative expression (versus blow it up) is to express my willingness to be seen and heard in the world.

When I’m expressing all my Chaos/Creative powers in the positive, there is nothing more joyful and playful. Moving from that 2nd phase into the 3rd phase of success is so rewarding.

I resolve today…more positive creative expression achieving success and less blowing things up!
